Huawei has just announced a new incentive campaign which will benefit almost all of its customers in China. The company is offering fans the chance to have the battery of their model changed at a flat rate of 99 yuan ($14). This offer opened on December 5 and will run till March 5, 2019, enough time for all interested fans to catch in on the offer. Unfortunately, it is exclusive to China but we hope the company will replicate this in other markets.

Owners of the models that make up the flagship Mate series, P series, Honor series, Enjoy series, Maimang series, Nova series and others have an ample opportunity to have their failing smartphone batteries changed, all at the same 99 yuan cost. The amount covers the cost of the spare parts and labour for a single model. Customers can avail themselves of this offer by visiting any of Huawei’s authorized service centres across China but excluding those in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Also, note that the list of eligible models doesn’t include the Mate 20 series which is relatively still new.

This is an impressive offer considering that it doesn’t only include the cost of the battery but also that of the labor. Moreso, some of the smartphones are pretty difficult to dismantle the back panel, especially where it is made of glass like the Mate 20, P20 and several of the premium midrange models.
