The Lava Z40 that runs on Android Go version of Android 8.1 Oreo OS is fitted with a 4-inch display. The smartphone delivers a resolution of 400 x 800 pixels along with a conventional aspect ratio of 16:9. The display of the phone is shielded by a Gorilla Glass layer.

The Z40 is driven by an octa-core processor that works at 1.4 GHz. The SoC is supported by 1 GB of RAM. The native storage available on the device is 8 GB of RAM.
