Yesterday, Realme slashed the price of the Realme U1. It appears there was a reason behind the price cut. Today, the manufacturer has announced a new variant which has 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

The new variant is priced at ₹10,999 (~$160) which is the old price the 3+32GB variant sold for before yesterday’s price cut. This means there is just a ₹1000 price difference between all three models. The 3+32GB version now sells for ₹9,999 (~$146) while the 4+64GB version is now ₹11,999 (~$175), down from its original price of ₹13,499 (~$197).

The new 3+64GB variant will be available for purchase on April 10 at 12 noon (IST) on Amazon India and the online Realme store.

The Realme U1 has a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with a teardrop notch at the top that houses the 25MP selfie camera. It is powered by MediaTek’s Helio P70 chipset, an octa-core chipset clocked at 2.1GHz with a Mali-G72 GPU. There is support for storage expansion (256GB max.) via a dedicated MicroSD card slot.

It has a 3.5mm audio jack, dual nano-SIM support, and FM radio. The phone runs ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. It has been confirmed it will be updated to ColorOS 6 based on Android 9 Pie later.
