Huawei had a very good run last year as far as its consumer electronics business is concerned, even when the company was going through one of its rough times due to concern over security with its products and US-China trade war.

Last year, i.e. for the year 2018, the company revealed that its smartphone shipments crossed the 200 million mark and the combined shipments of the company’s smartphones reached over 206 million units. It was reported that Huawei’s consumer business revenue has reached $52 billion, which is the largest revenue of Huawei’s BG business.

Going forward, in this year, the company is aiming to ship over 250 million units of its smartphones globally. During China Cup Central League, Zhu Ping, Vice President of Huawei’s consumer business said that the Huawei shipments in 2019 will exceed the mark of 250 million units.

The development comes after the company is seeing demand for its recently launched flagship smartphones — Huawei P30 and P30 Pro. When the devices went on sale in China on 11th April, the company sold units worth 200 million yuan in just 10 minutes.

The company recently revealed that its current Mate-series flagship smartphones — Huawei Mate 20 series, has shipped more than 10 million units in just 4 and a half months. It also announced that the Mate 20 series has broken the previous Mate-series and P-series sales record for the same time duration in Greater China.
