Xiaomi has launched the Populele 2 Smart Ukulele. The musical device is a successor to the Populele smart Ukulele that was first launched in February 2017 under the MIJIA crowdfunding platform. The Populele 2 comes with a more streamlined design which looks modernized and sort f digital rather than like the traditional Ukulele. The first-gen Populele was made from Indonesian rosewood with imported nylon strings. This time around, the Populele 2 Smart Ukulele’s bod is made using high-purity T700 carbon fiber composite material, supplemented with ASA resin, to reconstruct the body process. This model comes with similar features as the first-gen model and more. It comes with Bluetooth which can be used to interact with the smart “Music CP” app on a smartphone. The app shows the chord that is struck and actually records the same for future reference. It also provides a quide to take beginners through the steps of learning to play the Ukulele. The app provides video demonstrations for tasks such as fingering, chord progression. It comes with seven pop songs that can easily be learnt in a matter of days. There is also a metronome counter that moves at a rhythm that the player can catch up with learning a new song. If there are persistent errors, the counter slows down the tempo of the song.
