Honor is rolling out a new update for Honor V20 with few new features and fixes. As promised, Magic UI 2.1 along with the recently launched Ark compiler update is taking place on the Honor V20; however, it is missing GPU Turbo 3.0. The update also fixes the camera and optimizes its display to reduce false touches.

Additionally, Huawei announced the Ark Compiler last month intending to improve performance, smoothness, and responsiveness of the devices. It brings fluency to the apps and helps them render much faster. It facilitates the execution and interpretation in the Android compilation process. Ark compiler improves fluency by 24%, the response by 44% and enhances third-party apps operation by 60%. It is faster than the Dalvik Virtual Machine and solves various problems faced by ARK compiler.

It is a sophisticated technology which will bring robustness to Huawei devices. The Honor V20 and Honor Magic 2 was promised to get the GPU Turbo 3.0 with Magic UI 2.1 update, but it is missing from the latest build.

GPU Turbo 3.0 features various new advancements including high-frame rate and AI image adjustment. The power consumption has been reduced by 10% and supported games are now 25, up from 6.

Honor also added Android May security patch to enhance the device security. The update weighs 362 MB in size. It is currently rolling out in China, the global rollout may follow soon.

Honor V20 features a 6.3 inch IPS, Full HD+ resolution LCD with the 1080 x 2310 pixels resolution. It is powered by a Kirin 980 SoC, which carries dual NPUs and improved performance. The device is available in two storage variants: 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage.

There’s a dual camera module featuring a 48 MP primary camera and a 3D ToF sensor. On the front, Honor V20 carries a 25-megapixel camera for beautiful selfies. It comes with 22.5W ultra-fast charging technology to charge 4000 mAh battery.
