Until last year, Redmi existed as a sub-brand of Xiaomi. From the beginning of this year, Redmi started out as an independent brand. The first Redmi phone to launch this year was Redmi Note 7. On Jan. 10, Redmi had launched the Redmi Note 7 smartphone in China with a starting price of 999 Yuan (~$145) and the Note 7 Pro was announced in February with a starting cost of 1,599 Yuan (~$232). These handsets have received good reception in various markets including India. Today, the Chinese firm confirmed that the global sales of the Note 7 series have surpassed 15 million units.

In May, the company had claimed that the Note 7 series broke 10 million sales in 129 days. Today, it has revealed that the company was able to achieve sales of 15 million units in just six months. Until 2 days, the company has also announced new price cuts for the Redmi Note 7 series.

The 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage edition of the Redmi Note 7 was introduced with a price tag of 1,399 Yuan (~$203). The smartphone is now available in China with a price tag of 1,199 Yuan (~$174). The Redmi Note 7 Pro that features 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of native storage is priced at 1,599 Yuan (~$232). The smartphone can be now purchased with a pricing of 1,399 Yuan (~$203).

The Redmi Note 7 has a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with waterdrop notch. It carries support for full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The Snapdragon 660 chipset powers the phone with up to 6 GB of RAM. It comes with up to 64 GB of storage and it has a microSD card slot for additional storage. The handset includes a 4,000mAh battery. The Note 7 came with 48-megapixel (Samsung GM1) + 5-megapixel dual camera setup and it has a front-facing camera of 13-megapixel.Redmi Note 7

The Redmi Note 7 Pro features the same 6.3-inch full HD+ display that’s available on the Note 7. The Snapdragon 675 SoC powers the phone along with 6 GB of RAM. It has a native storage of 128 GB and it also features a microSD slot. There is a Sony IMX586 48-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera system on the backside of the phone. The frontside of the phone has 13-megapixel selfie camera. The 4,000mAh battery of the phone supports 18W Quick Charge 4 fast charging. The MIUI 10 based Android 9 Pie OS comes loaded on both Note 7 and Note 7 Pro smartphones.
