Earlier this year, South Korean giant Samsung launched its ambitious foldable smartphone — Samsung Galaxy Fold, which the company had been working on for years. While the phone is yet to go on sale, the company is reportedly working on its successor.

As per the report, which cites the company’s suppliers in Taiwan as the source, Samsung is working on a next-generation foldable smartphone which is expected to get launched early next year but not specific timeframe is known yet.

The report further adds that while the current foldable smartphone comes with a book-like foldable smartphone, the next-generation foldable smartphone will have a flip design and will be folded vertically and not horizontally.

While nothing much is known about this upcoming foldable smartphone, the report adds that the smartphone will come with a 6.7-inch display. It also reveals that the company will start sourcing components for this device from November this year.

The news about the next-generation foldable smartphone from Samsung comes when the company is yet to start selling the Galaxy Fold smartphone, it’s first foldable display device. While the phone was announced earlier this year, it’s sales have been postponed because of the display-related issues reported by the early reviewers.

The company has reported fixed the issues and is all set to start selling the smartphone, but is yet to officially confirm this. It is believed that the company could take the stage at the Galaxy Note 10 smartphone launch on 7th August to share more information about the Samsung Galaxy Fold smartphone.
