Xiaomi‘s first 5G phone was the Mi Mix 3 5G which was launched not to long ago. The company may soon launch its second 5G phone. Not too long ago, the device got its 3C certification, appearing with the model number M1908F1XE. A Xiaomi model with the same model number hasnow been certified by TENAA.

The device is believed to be the 5G version of the Mi 9 and is listed to feature a thicker 8.95mm build. The original Mi 9 comes in at 7.6mm thick. The slight bump in thickness is likely due to the bigger battery which is crammed into the device. It comes with a slightly bigger 4000mAh battery, up from 3300mAh. The 5G Mi 9 also supports 45W fast charging (up from 27W).

The TENAA listing also shows that the Mi 9 5G retains the 6.39-inch display size of the original version but there are rumours that resolution will be increased from the 1440 pixels. Further, the 5G smartphone is expected to come with a Snapdragon 855+. The company will also add OIS to the main camera on the back. The device will also come with dual SIM card slot and dual standby. However, we expect the 5G connectivity to be on one SIM only. XIaomi Mi 9 5G

There are speculations that the Mi 9 5G will be called “Xiaomi Mi 9S” based on a post by China Unicom. The phone is expected to be released in September.
