Xiaomi has today announced a new campaign called “Xiaomi 5G Number One Player Club” under which the company will be recruiting 100 people from across the world who will then get to experience Xiaomi’s first 5G smartphone before everyone else.
The selected participants of this campaign will receive four major benefits, which includes experiencing Xiaomi’s first 5G smartphone, priority purchase eligibility for the new Xiaomi 5G device, ticket to the smartphone’s launch event, and Xiaomi 5G Number One Player Honor.
To participate for this new campaign from Xiaomi, interested users will need to follow the official public number of Xiaomi mobile phone on Weibo and then send the text “5G”.
Xiaomi’s first 5G smartphone is the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 and the company has already announced that it will soon launch its second 5G smartphone. The upcoming 5G device from Xiaomi has already been certified by 3C and has received all the necessary licenses.
Reports indicate that the second 5G smartphone from Xiaomi has been named Xiaomi 9 Pro or Xiaomi 9 5G. The phone is expected to be powered by the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus octa-core chipset and will be backed by a 4,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. It is said that the smartphone will retain the 6.39-inch display size of the original version but the resolution will be increased.
While the company is yet to officially announce this upcoming 5G smartphone, details leaked through Chinese telecom operator China Unicom has revealed that the second Xiaomi 5G smartphone will go on sale from September.
