Realme and Redmi are gunning to launch their first smartphones with 64-megapixel quad cameras. Redmi will become the first brand to launch it by introducing the Redmi Note 8 Pro on Aug. 29 in China. Yesterday’s teaser image from Realme suggested that the company may hold an unveil event on Sept. 4 in China. The Realme 5 Pro has recently appeared on TENAAvv with full specifications. Also, Realme CMO Xu Qi has shared a render of the upcoming Realme XT that features 64-megapixel quad camera setup. It is likely that Realme may announce both smartphones on Sept. 4 in the home market.

The official render of the Realme XT shows that it features a gradient colored rear that is dubbed as Snow White. As it can be seen, the white rear of the handset shows shades of blue, pink and purple. At the top-left corner of the device is a vertical quad camera setup. There is a yellow ring around the 64-megapixel primary lens of the phone.

The absence of rear-mounted fingerprint scanner indicates that the Realme XT will come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. However, the overall design is quite similar to the Realme 5 Pro phone.

Realme XT render

Earlier this year, Realme had launched the Realme 3 Pro phone in India. However, the same phone was announced in China as Realme X Lite. Hence, the Realme 5 Pro could be also arriving with a difference name in the country. If it is arriving as a weaker version of the Realme XT, it could be called Realme XT Lite.

There is no concrete information available on the specs of the Realme XT. It could be sporting a pop-up selfie snapper and a notch-less display like the predecessor Realme X phone. It is speculated to be fueled by an unspecified Snapdragon mobile platform.

The Realme 5 Pro features a 6.5-icnh IPS LCD display with waterdrop notch. It supports full HD+ resolution. The Snapdragon 712 chipset and up to 8 GB of RAM powers the smartphone. It has up to 128 GB of native storage. The ColorOS 6.0.1 based Android 9 Pie OS runs on the device. It is equipped with a 4,000mAh battery that supports VOOC 3.0 20W fast charging. The handset is equipped with Sony IMX586 48-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel + 2-megapixel quad camera setup and has a front-facing camera of 16-megapixel.
