Last month, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor launched two mid-range smartphones in its home market — Honor 9X and 9X Pro, which comes with the trendy pop-up front-facing camera, offering a higher screen-to-body ratio.

Today, the company has announced that in just 29 days of the Honor 9X series smartphones getting launched, it has crossed the sales mark of three million units. The number of sales is the combination of both the devices — Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro.

The Honor 9X series in China takes on the likes of Realme X and Redmi K20. As for the pricing, the 9X comes in three variants — 4GB + 64GB, 6GB + 64GB, and 6GB + 128GB, costing 1,399 Yuan (~$203), 1,599 Yuan (~$232), and 1,899 Yuan (~$276) respectively.

On the other hand, the 9X Pro with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage costs 2,199 Yuan (~$319) while the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model costs 2,399 Yuan (~$348). It is offered in Phantom Blue and Magic Night Black colors while the Honor 9X has Phantom Blue, Flame Red, and Magic Night Black colors.

Coming to the specifications, both the models under Honor 9X series features a glass and metal combination chassis. Its dimensions are 163.1 x 77.2 x 8.8mm and it weighs 206 grams. With no notch onboard, the Honor 9X Pro offers a full-screen experience through its 6.59-inch IPS LCD display, along with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Full HD+ screen resolution.

Under the hood, Kirin 810 from Huawei is powering both the devices. While the Pro comes with up to 8GB RAM and maximum storage of 256GB (UFS 2.1), the standard model has up to 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. For additional storage, the handset comes equipped with a microSD card slot. The chipset is also equipped with liquid cooling technology for heat dissipation.

As for the optics, the Honor 9X Pro features a vertically arranged triple camera system on the back, which includes a 48-megapixel primary lens with f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel superwide lens and a 2-megapixel sensor for adding depth effects. The smartphone is blessed with an elevating camera of 16-megapixel for capturing selfie shots. However, the standard model comes with a dual-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 48-megapixel f/1.8 aperture main lens and 2-megapixel depth sensor.

Both the smartphones are packed with usual connectivity features such as dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C, and 3.5mm audio jack. There’s also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The devices are running EMUI 9.1.1 out-of-the-box based on Android 9 Pie operating system, and also comes with GPU Turbo 3.0 technology that enhances the gaming experience. Both Honor 9X and 9X Pro are powered by a 4,000mAh battery.
