With smartphone gettings more than capable of recording professional-grade video and taking impressive images, accessories related to the smartphone camera is also witnessing a rise in demand. For smartphone video recording, one of the popular accessory or gear is the handheld mobile gimble.

Zhiyun Tech, a China-based company has now launched its new mobile gimble — Zhiyun Smooth-Q2 on crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. The company is touting the Smooth-Q2 as an affordable, pro-performance, real pocket-sized gimbal which is more suitable for day to day filmmaking.

The company says that they have redesigned the motor and structure to make Smooth-Q2 a small mobile gimbal without sacrificing the performance. It uses the full aerospace-grade aluminum-alloy body to enhance the strength and stability of the gimbal.

It can be connected to the smartphone using Bluetooth with 1-second quick install, it can be functional as soon as you take it out of the pocket. The handle of the gimble houses a few buttons, including power button, photo/video, and five-way joystick. Along with the USB Type-C charging port, there are LED indicators for different modes and battery level.

The Zhiyun Smooth-Q2 mobile gimble is claimed to offer 16 hours of continuous usage under normal filming condition which the company says is 30 percent longer than the previous generation. It also has a micro-USB port that allows it to work as a power bank to charge the smartphone.

Coming to the pricing, as an early bird offer, the company is offering Zhiyun Smooth-Q2 mobile gimble for $109 which also includes USB Type-C cable, a phone holder, and a wrist strap.
