Xiaomi recently held its Smarter Living 2020 launch in India where several smart home gadgets such as the Mi Smart Water Purifier, Mi Motion Activated Night Light 2, Mi Smart Band 4. The Chinese tech giant also launched the premium Mi TV 4X series and Mi TV 4A in India. The four smart TVs that were unveiled run on PatchWall 2.0 based on Android Pie-backed Android TV.
If you are wondering if the updated interface will be hitting old Mi TV models, Xiaomi has got a response for you. The tech giant has announced that indeed all previously launched Mi TVs will get Android Pie support as well. The company disclosed that older Mi TV models such as the Mi TV 4A Pro 43-inch, Mi TV 4A Pro 49-inch and Mi TV 4 Pro 55-inch. The update will also bring along support for Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Xiaomi had earlier commenced recruitment of testers for Android 9 early access program for the Mi TV 4A series as far back as July. The Mi TV 4C Pro 32-inch and Mi TV 4A Pro 32-inch started receiving their Android Pie update late last month. However, no date has been announced for the rollout of the update but Xiaomi did reveal it will be sometime in Q4 2019.

PatchWall 2.0 brings on board several tweaks like a Light Theme and a carousel view. The new interface also comes along with Live News integration which delivers real-time news updates on one single screen.
