In the Q1 of 2019, Samsung unveiled its first foldable smartphone which is called the Galaxy Fold. While the device was originally set to be commercially available in the following months, due to some display related issues, Samsung had to push back this date to Q3 of 2019.
The reiterated Samsung Galaxy Fold with a slightly modified design was first put on sale in its home country, Korea on the 6th of September. Subsequently, it was also made available in Europe and the US on 9th September and 27th September, in respective order.
Samsung is now expanding its availability to other countries and interested customers residing from Australia, India and UAE can pre-register to purchase a unit of Galaxy Fold.

While Samsung India has already notified that the unique handset will launch in the country on the 1st of October, Samsung UAE and Samsung Australia are yet to provide a specific launch date. With that being said, the company is expected to launch the Galaxy Fold by the mid of October in the two latter countries as well.
The customers do not need to pay any money for the registration process and price in different regions will be revealed along with their launch.

Noteworthy, Samsung has also declared that the premium device will not be sold online and customers must pre-order it to be able to purchase a unit. Besides, it will be sold in limited quantities, though Samsung has not provided a specific number of units up for grabs. Therefore, if you plan to buy one we would recommend pre-registring as early as possible.

It features two displays, out of which, the main cover display measures 4.6 inch while the second 7.3 inch Dynamic AMOLED foldable panel is present on the inside.
The Galaxy Fold features the Snapdragon 855 SoC which consists of an Octa-core CPU and Andreno 640 GPU. In terms of storage, it has 12GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. The device is powered by 2 batteries with a total rated capacity of 4,380mAh. In addition to fast wired charging, it also supports wireless charging.
The Galaxy Fold has a total of six cameras. The triple rear camera setup consists of a 16MP, f/2.2 ultra-wide sensor with a 12MP, f/1.5-2.4 sensor and a 12MP, f/2.4 telephoto sensor. The selfie camera present on the front has a resolution of 10 MP. The two remaining sensors are placed above the foldable display and have a resolution of 10 MP and 8 MP.
