While we await the POCOPHONE F2/POCO F2’s arrival, Alvin Tse, the global head of POCOPHONE has a new huge responsibility. The executive took to Twitter to announce that he is the new head of Xiaomi Indonesia.
Alvin will pull double duty as the head of Xiaomi’s Indonesian business and the global head of POCOPHONE. He replaces Steven Shi who now has a new role as the General Manager of Xiaomi Southeast Asia.

Xiaomi says that the appointment is to strengthen the leadership structure in the region which is an important market for it. Xiaomi also says it is an improvement in its global expansion strategy.

Alvin Tse joined Xiaomi in 2013 and has worked in India and Europe. He graduated from Stanford Science and has a degree in Management Science and Engineering. He worked with Flipboard China before joining Xiaomi. His LinkedIn page has been updated to reflect the new position.
Xiaomi has also announced that it plans to increase its reach and products in the country. It will collaborate with businesses and add more distribution partners. At the moment, Erajaya is its major distributor in the country.
