Smartisan, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is back to making phones after a rocky year with finances. Things were so bad that its founder, Luo Yonghao, had to step down from his post as CEO and a number of employees were also let go.

The company seems to have ironed things out now and is set to announce a new phone on October 31. The event will be held at the Beijing Science and Technology University Gymnasium.

Smartisan October 31 event

The product expected to launch at the event is the Smartisan Nut Pro 3 which is believed to be the phone with four rear cameras that leaked earlier this month. its specs are currently still unknown but they may become public knowledge soon.

Luo Yonghao

When the device leaked Luo Yonghao made a post on Weibo saying he will not buy the device. It appears there are some changes the company has made since he left that he isn’t pleased with. However, he did apologize for the statement the following day.

Unlike previous events where Smartisan sold tickets to those willing to attend, the company has said it will not do that for the October 31 launch. Instead, it will give out tickets to fans, those who have purchased Smartisan products in the past and those who have evidence of purchase for previous tickets.
