At the end of September, a leaked invite had revealed that Meizu will be announcing the Meizu 16T flagship smartphone on Oct. 23. However, there was no official confirmation on it from the company. Today, the Chinese manufacturer has officially confirmed through Weibo that the Meizu 16T smartphone will be made official on Oct. 23.
The above shown poster released by Meizu confirms that the Meizu 16T will be unveiled in Beijing, China on the said date. The handset is expected to arrive as a larger screen flagship phone aimed towards the younger audience. The specifications of the Meizu 16T are no secret as they have been revealed through its TENAA appearance.
Meizu 16T Specifications
The Meizu 16T TENAA listing revealed that it has a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with support for full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2232 pixels. Since the phone features symmetrical bezels, it offers an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. The display of the phone is integrated with a fingerprint sensor.
The Snapdragon 855 mobile platform with 2.84GHz octa-core processor is present under the hood of the device. It is expected to arrive in China in multiple RAM choices like 6 GB and 8 GB. The smartphone is expected to release in storage options such as 128 GB and 256 GB. There is no support for microSD card slot on the device. The AnTuTu appearance of the smartphone had revealed that it recorded an impressive average benchmarking score of 418K+.
The Meizu 16T runs on Android 9 Pie OS. Hopefully, it will come with the latest Flyme 8 UI. The back panel of the phone is fitted with a 12-mgeapixel + 8-megapixel + 5-megapixel triple camera system. The slim-sized top bezel of the phone has a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. The handset houses a 4,000mAh battery that is equipped with support for rapid charging.
TENAA revealed that the phone may arrive in colors like blue-black, green and orange-red in China. Ahead of the launch, the pre-orders of the smartphone have started on a Chinese retailer site with a price tag of 2,499 Yuan (~$352) for its 128 GB storage variant.
