An Indian tech publication, 91Mobiles, has published a report claiming that Oppo will launch their upcoming Reno S smartphone in the Indian market in the first week of December. This is the first we’re really hearing about this device, and it seems like it’s all set to be a brand new flagship for the company unlike the previous Oppo Reno devices.

According to the sources, the device will come with a price tag of above INR 40,000 ($564), putting comfortably above the price tag of the Reno 2 which sat as INR 29,990 ($423). On top of that, the new Reno S will be available through online and offline stores. The rear will feature a 64MP primary camera, and there’s 65W Super VOOC 2.0 fast charging on board.

Outside of that, we can probably also expect to see some flagship specs, though we assume nothing too crazy. Considering that Realme are also planning to release their own flagship, the Realme X2 Pro, in India later this month, it seems like a risky move to have their dates so close by. It’s possible the Reno S is just another mid-ranger though.

The big thing that will set the Oppo Reno S apart from the crowd (and Realme X2 Pro) will probably be some sort of interesting camera gimmick, ala the previous Reno devices. Unfortunately there’s currently a lack of anything substantial regarding the new device. Stay tuned on Gizmochina.com for any updates regarding the new device.
