Earlier today, Xiaomi announced that it will have an event on November 5 where it will unveil a new phone called the Mi CC9 Pro. The device will be the second phone after the Mi MIX Alpha to come with Samsung’s 108MP sensor.

Lao Wei, the Product Manager of the Mi CC line took to Weibo to show us just how big the 108MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor is. In the attached photo, we see her holding a standard 12MP sensor in one hand and the 108MP ISOCELL Bright HMX in the other and one can see the latter is about four times the size of the 12MP sensor.

She explained that the large size of the sensor brought challenges when designing the phone and in the structure of the device. The 108MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX is said to have a photosensitive area twice the size of a 48MP sensor.

Xiaomi will release a teardown photo of the Mi CC9 Pro later which will give us a look at how the 108MP sensor influenced the design of the phone’s internals.
