ASUS Zenfone 6 gets Android 10 stable update

When ASUS took the wraps off the Zenfone 6, they promised the phone will get updated to Android Q and Android R. Android Q actually launched as Android 10 but ASUS’s promise didn’t change as the Zenfone 6 is now the latest flagship phone to get Android 10.

The update is just a little over 800MB and brings all the goodness of Android 10 from new gestures to new ways to customize your notification, and of course, dark mode. The changelog also mentions Support for Google Play System Update which is the new way certain updates will be delivered (via the Play Store).

The update is rolling out in the US as well as in India where the phone is known as the ASUS 6z.

With the Zenfone 6 out of the way, we hope the ROG Phone II will be next. The original ROG Phone is still stuck on Android Oreo, however, an update to Android Pie was confirmed recently following speculations that ASUS wouldn’t be updating the phone anymore. The Zenfone 5Z began receiving a beta version of Android 10 last month, so a stable update should arrive soon.

Zenfone 6 updates

With Android 10 rolling out to the Zenfone 6 already, folks will definitely have more faith in ASUS. The phone is still a recommended device to purchase if you are looking for an affordable flagship. It has a notch-free screen, a large battery capacity, and dual-rear cameras that flip forward to double as the selfie cameras. It also keeps the audio jack and its new ZenUI is a near-stock version of Android with some useful customizations.
