Earlier today, Xiaomi confirmed that it is currently testing an interesting feature for its newly announced Mi TV 5 series. The company will soon add support for voiceprint on the new Mi TV 5 models. We don’t have an exact date for the update, but it should be rolled out soon.
Voiceprint will make Mi TV 5’s experience highly personal. With support for voiceprint, the Mi TV 5 will be able to recognize each user with his or her unique voice. Imagine a situation where you could call out to your TV and it would immediately recognize your profile and show up your personalized content and recommendations. Another good example is when you can simply say ‘continue with the previous video’ and the TV will automatically playback the video that you were last playing. It’s just like a fingerprint profile but for voice.
The Mi TV 5 comes in regular and Pro variants, featuring 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage to ensure smooth performance. As usual, this new Smart TV from Xiaomi comes with the company’s own PatchWall user interface. It also comes with features like Dolby Audio and DTS HD Sound.
