Following the partial reveal of the Redmi K30 last month, there have been speculations about the device’s launch. Multiple reports have said the phone will arrive before the end of the year. However, yesterday, Lu Weibing confirmed via a post on Weibo that the Redmi K30 will launch next year.

Mr. Weibing’s post was originally about China Mobile’s list of top 4G smartphones which the Redmi K20 Pro Premium Edition, Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi Note 8 Pro, and Redmi Note 8 all made. He added that they plan to continue to adhere to a high standard in the 5G era and bring the best quality to their fans.

Redmi K30 release date

At the and of the post, he adds that Redmi will be a 5G pioneer in 2020, starting with the Redmi K30.

Chinese leakster @Digital Chat Station also shared the tweet on his timeline and added that Qualcomm and MediaTek’s 5G mid-range chipsets – the SM7250 and MT6885 respectively, will begin shipping at the earliest in January 2020.

Qualcomm is yet to officially take the wraps off the new processor but it should do so during its summit which is scheduled to hold between December 3 and December 5. MediaTek also has its own summit scheduled for November 26 where it will announce the MT6885. Both processors will be the SoC powering most mid-range 5G phones.

Based on the new development, the recently-certified Xiaomi M1911U2E is definitely not the Redmi K30.
