Android 10 is rolling out to a number of phones already but most phones are still stuck on older versions of Android. While some manufacturers have released a roadmap of their update schedule, others have kept sealed lips. Yesterday, Sony joined the former category and announced which of its phones will get Android 10 and when to expect it.

Sony Xperia 5 will get Android 10 in December

The blog post put up by the Japanese manufacturer reveals that the Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 flagships are first in line to get the update which will be available in December.

Sony says the Xperia 10, Xperia 10 Plus, Xperia XZ2, Xperia XZ2 Compact, Xperia XZ2 Premium, and Xperia XZ3 will also get Android 10. However, the update will begin rolling out to these devices starting early next year.

Sony adds a disclaimer that the rollout will be phased and will also depend on carriers and regions.

Based on the list, Sony is not only updating its 2018 and 2019 flagship phones but also the mid-range Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus.

Sony ships its phones with a stock-like version of Android along with some of its own custom features such as Side Sense and one-handed mode. Android 10 brings a system-wide dark mode, smart replies, a new notification, manager, and more.
