Honor’s upcoming flagship smartphone for 2019 is the Honor V30 and V30 Pro 5G. We had a clue that the new flagship models were going to feature Hisilicon’s best chipset, but today, the company has officially confirmed that the Honor V30 will feature its flagship-grade Kirin 990 5G processor. This also confirms them to be the first 5G smartphones from the brand.

vivo V30 price leak

Given its high-end placement, the Honor V30 and V30 Pro 5G models are expected to be expensive as well. According to a recent leak on Weibo, the V30 could be priced at 4999 yuan ($710). This would put it in direct competition to the Mate 30 models which also start at the same price in China.

According to an earlier leak, the V30 series is expected to feature a 60MP quad-camera camera setup at the back, triumphing even Mate 30 Pro’s 48MP camera setup. However, the real highlight of the V30’s camera setup could be the new Matrix algorithm.

Honor V30

We don’t know much about this Matrix Camera, but Huawei had trademarked two words, Camera Matrix, and Cine Lens, back in July 2019. The Cine camera on Mate 30 Pro enabled ultrawide videos in 4K at 60 frames per second and even 7680fps slow-motion recording. So if they are similar technologies, the Matrix camera could be a really exciting camera feature. Honor has already teased that the V30 will have powerful videography features like Movie Lens, but we expect a lot more features to be revealed at launch.

Previous reports have revealed that the Honor V30 Pro could be equipped with a 4,200mAh battery with 40W fast charging technology like the Mate 30 Pro 5G. The handset is now up for registrations in China. We might even see a special Honor V30 Pro Aston Martin edition phone at the time of its launch on November 26.
