Honor will start its international rollout of the Honor Magic 9 series in Hong Kong on Wednesday, November 4. Honor global CMO Guan Haitao shared the update via a Weibo post.

Until now, everything we knew about the Honor Magic 9 Pro series came from the Magic 9 series launch in China. The Hong Kong event is the first time Honor will talk about the phone for buyers elsewhere. Europe is next. Honor has already confirmed a January launch there that covers the UK and France.

What each Honor Magic 9 model offers

The Honor Magic 9 is the compact model in the series. It has a 6.37-inch display, an 8,000mAh battery, and a last-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor with MagicOS 11 software. The front has a 55MP square selfie camera, which lets you switch between 1:1, 16:9, and 9:16 framing.

The rear has two 200MP sensors with tuning from ARRI. One is the main camera, and the other is a telephoto. You also get a 50MP ultrawide camera.

Honor Magic 9 Pro Max

The Honor Magic 9 Pro Max is the camera-focused model. It has a larger 6.8-inch display and an 8,800mAh battery, with support for 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. Honor says the phone can record video in ARRI LogC3 and includes 14 ARRI Looks presets.

Its ARRI CINEMA mode supports 4K recording at 60fps, while Honor’s H1 imaging chip handles image processing. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor.

There’s a third model too, called the Honor Magic 9 Super Edition. It has a bigger  11,000mAh battery with 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. However, it has a less ambitious camera setup. More about it here.
