Realme has today announced that the users of the company’s latest smartphone Realme X2 Pro in India can now experience ColorOS 7 based on Android 10 by participating in the beta recruitment programme.

The company has added that applications for the beta testing are being accepted until December 3, while the ColorOS 7 release for successful beta applicants will debut on December 18.

Further, the company has also shared a couple of images to give a glimpse at the custom ColorOS 7 update designed for the Realme X2 Pro. Earlier this week, Realme announced the ColorOS 7 update roadmap for its key smartphones including the Realme X2 Pro.

The application window is open and applicants need to fill a Google form to participate in the beta testing programme. They need to be an Indian citizen and at least 18 years old. The company is also asking for a “provable” experience in OS beta testing. Selected participants will need to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

After receiving applications, the company will contact successful applicants via an email. The final list of beta testers will also be provided on the Realme Community forums on December 9th.

The smartphone comes with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ S-AMOLED display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC which is clocked at 2.96GHz. The phone is coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage.

Realme X2 Pro

As for the cameras, the device features quad camera system that has the Samsung GW1 64-megapixel lens with f/1.8 aperture as the primary sensor. It is coupled with an 8-megapixel ultrawide angle lens with 115-degree field-of-view, a 13-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.5 aperture with support for 5x hybrid optical zoom and 20x hybrid zoom and lastly a 2-megapixel portrait lens with f/2.4 aperture.

On the front side, the smartphone comes equipped with a 16-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling. The Realme X2 Pro runs Android 9 Pie operating system with the company’s own ColorOS 6.1 on top. The device is powered by a 4,000mAh battery which the company claims can be fully charged in 35 minutes using the 50W SuperVOOC Flash Charge technology.
