On Dec. 10, Redmi will be launching the Redmi K30 smartphone. Yesterday, the Chinese manufacturer took to Weibo to reveal that the Qualcomm’s new 5G mobile platform will power the Redmi K30. Today, the Chinese firm has officially confirmed that the Redmi K30 will be debuting as the world’s first smartphone powered by Snapdragon 765G 5G chipset.

The Snapdragon 765G chipset was announced earlier today in the US alongside the Snapdragon 865 designed for flagship devices. Unlike the SD865 that needs to be bundled with the Snapdragon X55 5G modem, the SD765 comes integrated with Snapdragon X52 modem. The X52 supports SA / NSA dual-modem 5G and offers download speeds of up to 3.7Gbps.

The SD765 chipset is equipped with 5th generation artificial intelligence engine (AIE) with 5TOPs of AI computing power. The letter G in the name for Snapdragon 765G denotes gaming which indicates that the Redmi K30 with the new SoC will offer better graphics performance. Qualcomm is yet to reveal the technical specifications of the Snapdragon 765 mobile platform.
