Xiaomi has rolled out the drums to celebrate the 5 years anniversary of its popular MIJIA Air Purifier brand. The company disclosed the milestone achievement via a Weibo post which also revealed that over 10 million units of the air purifier have been sold worldwide since it was first launched.
Official information shows the MIJIA Air Purifier first hit the market on January 1, 2015, and with sales exceeding 10 million units, an average of 3.8 units were sold per minute. We can’t be so sure if that analysis is accurate. Most of the sales are likely in China where the MIJIA Air Purifier series turned out to be a very popular product. Air pollution is a major health hazard and source for concern for many in most Chinese cities. Even the cheap Airwear face mask Xiaomi launched in 2016 was a success. The air purifiers are equipped with high-precision laser particle sensors and in recent time, an OLED display which shows several parameters like the PM2.5 level, room temperature, humidity etc. The gadget can even be controlled remotely from a smartphone or smart speaker using the MIJIA app or XiaoAI.They are said to be highly efficient against aldehydes and haze.

Since the first air purifier was launched in 2015, Xiaomi has gone on to launch several improved models. Presently, the lineup includes the MIJIA Air Purifier Pro H, MIJIA Air Purifier 3, MIJIA Air Purifier Max. There is even a MIJIA Air Purifier/Ventilator and a Car Air Purifier.
