The Huawei MatePad Pro comes in four color variants – Danxia Orange, Castle Peak, Fritillaria White, and Night Ash. Since it went on sale nearly two weeks ago, only the White and Ash variants have been available for purchase. However, starting tomorrow the Danxia Orange and Castle Peak colorways which have a different material finish, actually leather, will become available for purchase.

Unlike the other two color variants, the orange and green leather variants are limited to two configurations only and they are the WiFi-only 8GB + 256GB version and the 8GB + 512GB LTE version. Both are priced at ¥4999 (~$713) and ¥5999 (~$856) respectively on Vmall. They are more expensive than the other variants of the same configuration because they ship with the M-Pencil and the keyboard included.

Huawei MatePad Pro

The MatePad Pro is the first tablet in the world with a punch-hole display. The screen measures 10.8-inches in size and has a 2560 x 1600 QHD resolution. There is a Kirin 990 processor under the hood and along with the aforementioned configurations, there are also 6GB + 128GB WiFi-only and LTE variants. Irrespective of the version you purchase, there is support for storage expansion.

The MatePad Pro has a single 13MP f/1.8 camera on the rear while an 8MP f/2.0 camera sits inside the punch-hole. It has quad speakers but no audio jack, Bluetooth 5.1, and a USB Type-C port. It packs a 7250mAh battery with support for 40W SuperCharge wired charging and 15W wireless charging. It also supports 7.5W reverse wireless charging. The M-Pencil charges wirelessly when placed at the top (in landscape mode) of the tablet.

Huawei revealed at the launch that a 5G version of the MatePad Pro will be available in the first quarter of 2020. This should take on Samsung’s own Galaxy Tab S6 which is also set to get a 5G version.
