The OPPO Reno3 5G is the first smartphone in the world to be powered by the Dimensity 1000L. While the MediaTek processor is expected to appear in more devices next year, we are more interested in its more powerful sibling, the Dimensity 1000. And now we know which manufacturer will use it first.

Digital Chat Station revealed in a Weibo post that OPPO will once again be the first manufacturer to announce a phone powered by the Dimensity 1000 next year. He doesn’t mention a date but it should be in January.

We currently can’t say which OPPO phone will come with the chipset but we believe it will be under the Reno series. The Reno 10x Zoom is expected to get a successor, so it may be the device with the Dimensity 1000 while the Snapdragon 865 will power the Find X2.

The Dimensity 1000 is an octa-core processor with 4 x Cortex-A77 cores clocked at 2.6GHz and 4 x Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.2GHz. It will also have the new Mali-G77 GPU. The chipset, just like the Dimensity 1000L, will support SA and NSA 5G networks and have downlink speeds up to 4.7Gbps. It also brings support for 5G dual-SIM that allows you to use two 5G SIM cards at the same time unlike other SoCs that only support the use of 5G in one SIM slot.
