Samsung has announced a new smartphone for the Galaxy A series in India. The new Galaxy A71 was first launched in Vietnam last December and it packs a punch-hole display and quad rear cameras.

Galaxy A71 featured

Unlike the Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A70s, the Galaxy A71 has a centered punch hole just like that of the Galaxy Z Flip. It is a 6.7-inch Infinity-O Super AMOLED display with a 2400 x 1080 resolution.

The display is not the only new change. There is also a more powerful processor – the Snapdragon 730, and it is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. You also get a dedicated MicroSD card slot for up to an additional 512GB of storage. Samsung has included a feature called Game Booster for improvements when playing games.

Galaxy A71 cameras

The Galaxy A71 comes with more cameras than its predecessors. The primary camera is a 64MP f/1.8 sensor and it comes along with a 12MP f/2.2 123° ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5MP f/2.2 macro camera, and a 5MP f/2.4 depth sensor. None of the cameras have OIS but there is digital zoom up to 8x and support for 4K video recording at 30fps. There is also HD slow-motion recording at 240fps and an ultrawide night mode. The selfie camera is a 32MP f/2.2 sensor.

Samsung has included an in-display fingerprint scanner and a 4500mAh battery with support for 25W Super-Fast Charging. The phone has Bluetooth 5.0, NFC (Samsung Pay), and dual-band WiFi. It also has Dolby Atmos and Samsung has retained the audio jack. The Galaxy A71 ships with One UI 2.0 based on Android 10 out of the box.

The Galaxy A71 is priced at INR 29,999 (~$419). That is significantly more expensive than the Realme X2 and the POCO X2. The A71 will be available in White, Black, and Blue and will go on sale on February 24.
