When it comes to mobile chip makers, most people are familiar with Qualcomm, MediaTek, Samsung, and Huawei. However, there are several others and one of them is UNISOC, formerly known as Spreadtrum. The Chinese company makes mobile chipsets too and they have appeared in phones from different manufacturers including Alcatel and Lava.
The semiconductor manufacturer has announced today that it will announce its new-generation 5G processor tomorrow, February 26. This will be its first 5G processor.
There is no info about the chipset but it seems to be the result of a collaboration between China UNICOM and UNISOC. We do not know what devices the 5G SoC will power as the manufacturer makes chipsets for not only phones but modems and IoT devices.
Since the launch is tomorrow, there is not much waiting to be done before we find out the details of the chipset.
