Xiaomi has started the rollout for another update of the MIUI 11 for the Mi 8. The smartphone was the Chinese company’s flagship from 2018 and is receiving the stable version of MIUI v11.0.6.0.

For those unaware, the MIUI custom skin is a heavily modified interface based on the Android operating system. So by its extension, the MIUI 11 is based on the latest Android 10. However, officials have stated that users should back up their data on the Xiaomi Mi 8 before starting the update. The reason for this is that certain apps have yet to optimize or be compatible with Android 10.

The Mi 8 first received the MIUI 11 update back in December 2019, which also brought Android 10 to the smartphone. This major update brings various improvements across the board alongside various bug fixes and better stability. One of the notable fixes includes the bug regarding the Xiaomi Mi 8 model’s avatar function. In the new update although the download size can be rather large for some users. Reports suggesting a download size close to or over 2GB in size.

The update is being rolled out in a staggered manner. This means certain Xiaomi Mi 8 users will receive the update before most others. Through this, day one bugs and issues can be avoided if found. So if you haven’t received the update, just wait a bit longer and stay tuned for more Xiaomi updates.
