The Redmi K30 Pro might soon launch judging by the flood of details pouring in. The latest is a bunch of photos of a prototype that reveal some key details regarding the phone’s design.

The photos were posted on Weibo and they show Redmi is going with a different design from that of the Redmi K30, unlike last year’s Redmi K20 and Redmi k20 Pro that share the same design. However, Redmi has retained some features from the K20 series.

The Redmi K30 Pro has a pop-up selfie camera rather than a punch hole like the Redmi K30 4G and Redmi K30 5G. Based on this design, the phone should have a similar screen-to-body ratio as the Redmi K20 Pro.

The image also shows that the upcoming flagship will keep the audio jack. The image shows the audio jack is on the opposite side of the selfie camera.

The big difference between the Redmi K30 Pro and the Redmi K20 Pro and of course the Redmi K30 is the rear camera design. Redmi has adopted the cookie design made popular by Motorola and then adopted by manufacturers such as Nokia and OnePlus.

The black camera housing which is slightly raised houses four camera sensors arranged in a matrix and not horizontally as in the case of the Oneplus 7T. The image confirms the phone has a 64MP primary camera but the specs of the other sensors are unknown. Below the camera housing is an LED flash. You also have “5G” printed right underneath confirming it is a 5G device.

This design is far from original and some might not like it but the thing about design is that it is subjective.

The Redmi K30 Pro should have an AMOLED display. The display may not have a high-refresh-rate if reports about Redmi keeping the price down to make it the cheapest Snapdragon 865 phone are true. It will have NFC, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and run Android 10 out of the box.
