Xiaomi‘s 2018 stock Android-running Mi A2 Lite last week received an update to Google’s latest Android 10 OS but that was not to last as the company soon rolled back the update as a result of bugs. The early build of the update was expected to have some bugs but in the case of the Mi A2 Lite, just like the Mi A3, the issues with the update extend beyond just a few minor bugs. Some users complained of their phone’s LCD getting damaged permanently while in other cases, the battery won’t charge fully. In some extreme cases, the phones got bricked and several other issues.

Xiaomi is reportedly working hard to fix the issues caused by the flopped Android 10 update. To this end, the company’s software team announced in the Mi community that it is working towards rolling out a new OTA update all through this month. In essence, owners of the Mi A2 Lite will start receiving the update in batches before April. However, no specific date was stated for the rollout.

In addition, Xiaomi is encouraging A2 Lite users whose models were bricked by the botched Android 10 update to take the units to authorized Mi service centres or return them to retailers for post-sales assistance (RMA).

We’ll keep you informed as soon as the updates start rolling.
