Recent reports had revealed that Honor is gearing up to launch a new smartphone called Honor 30S. The rumor mill had also speculated that the device may go official by the end of this month. The rumors have turned out to be true as Honor released an official confirmation through its Weibo account that the Honor 30S smartphone will be announced on March 30.

The Honor 30S launch date poster only confirms the March 30 date and has no information on its specifications. However, the image highlights the chipset that powers the Honor 30S phone. It is speculated that it will be the first smartphone to feature Huawei’s upcoming Kirin 820 chipset. Since it is said to be a 5G-ready SoC, the Honor 30S will arrive with support for 5G connectivity.

Recent reports have revealed that Kirin 820 will be a 7nm chipset that will come equipped with Cortex-A77 CPU cores and Mali-G77 GPU. The SoC is also rumored to deliver upgraded ISP and NPU experience. Apart from the Honor 30S phone, one of the upcoming Huawei Nova 7 series phone and Honor 10X will be powered by the Kirin 820 chipset. While the rumor mill has dubbed the successor of the Kirin 810 as Kirin 820, its official name is currently under the wraps.

The Honor 30S will be arriving in Chinese market to replace the Kirin 810 powered Honor 20S phone from last year in September. There is no information available on the specifications of the Honor 30S smartphone. Leaked renders of the phone that were spotted recently revealed that it will be arriving in the market in Orange and White gradient color options.

The handset is rumored to sport a punch-hole display. The backside of the device features a rectangle-shaped camera module at its top-left corner. It houses four cameras and a LED flash. The smartphone seems to be sporting a side-mounted fingerprint reader. It is expected to carry support for up to 40W fast charging.
