At the Huawei P40 series launch event, the company also took wraps off Huawei Watch GT 2, the successor to the last year’s Huawei Watch GT as well as EMUI 10.1 and another smartwatch called Huawei Watch GT 2e with sporty looks. But here in this post, let us take a closer look at what the new Huawei Watch GT 2 brings to the table.

Huawei Watch GT 2 Design

The Huawei Watch GT 2 is a spiritual successor to the original Huawei Watch GT launched in 2019. This smartwatch comes in two sizes – 42mm and 46mm as well as weighs 29g and 41g without the strap respectively. The watch case is made of metal + plastic and comes in Black Stainless Steel, Stainless Steel, Rose Gold Stainless Steel (42mm), and Titanium Grey Stainless Steel colors respectively.

As for straps, the 42mm version gets Khaki Leather, Cyan Fluoroelastomer, Rose Gold Milanese, and Black Fluoroelastomer options. On the other hand, the 46mm variant can be either paired with Titanium Grey Metal, Orange Fluoroelastomer, Brown Leather or Black Fluoroelastomer strap.

 

 

Huawei Watch GT 2 Specifications and Price

Talking about the screen, both variants feature a circular AMOLED display but with varying sizes and resolution. The smaller 42mm model comes fitted with a 1.2-inch panel with a resolution of 390 x 390 pixels, while the 46mm version sports a 1.39-inch panel with a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels. Although Huawei does not mention the capacity of the batteries present in each model, they are different as the smaller model is only rated for a maximum of 7 days, whereas the larger model will last 14 days as per the company.

As far as common features between the two are concerned, both come with Huawei’s own Kirin A1 wearable chip, fifteen professional sports modes, 85 custom workout modes, Bluetooth calling, in-device Music, notification support, sleep monitor, stress monitor, menstrual cycle management, built-in GPS, Bluetooth 5.1, power button, function button, water-resistance up to 5ATM, magnetic charging thimble port for charging, and loads of sensors including accelerometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic, optical heart rate, ambient light, air pressure, and capacitive.

Last but not least, the Huawei Watch GT 2 is priced at €229 (~$252) and  €249 (~$274) for the 42mm and 46mm respectively.
