Oppo is but one of many companies affected by the Coronavirus pandemic. The company had just recently announced to shut its offline stores and roadshow promotion of its Find X2 Pro 5G in Malaysia. Now, the company is offerings free face masks to promote the safety measures being undertaken in the country when you buy their products.
As of today (27th March 2020), Oppo will offer a free face mask with every purchase of any Oppo product, including smartphones, Enco Free and Enco Q1. Up to 10 pieces of face masks will be bundled with the transaction. Notably, this is only applicable to the Chinese smartphone manufacturer’s official online store. This is done to further promote cashless and contactless transactions to prevent possible infection.

This will continue till the end of March 2020 and it is currently unknown if Oppo decides to continue this promotion as the MCO (Movement Control Order) has also recently extended until 14th April 2020. According to the official announcement, the company has prepared about 1800 pieces of face masks to account for the lack of supply in the market right now. This arrives after the MCO’s order regarding the prevention of further spreading COVID-19.
For those unaware, China was hit with one of the worst viral outbreaks in history. The new strand of coronavirus is highly contagious and confirmed cases has been found in upwards of 170 countries already. So, the move is a very positive offer from Oppo, especially since face masks stocks have been in dire supplies during this period of crisis in many countries.
