The Huawei P40 series announced yesterday is the company’s lineup of flagship premium smartphones for the first half of 2020. Soon after the event, Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group in an interview with the press assured his company will able to meet the demand of its new smartphones amidst COVID-19 global pandemic.

Coronavirus outbreak has been affecting countries around the world in the worst ways possible. Lockdowns have been issued by governments to control the spread of the virus. Due to these, most manufacturing plants have been abandoned resulting in no production. But when the media asked about it to Mr. Yu, he ensured his company has sufficient units of P40 series ready to meet consumer demand.

He also revealed that Huawei has been manufacturing the P40 series of smartphones from Q4 2019, long before the coronavirus outbreak begun in China. Also, as COVID-19 is now under control in China, the company has even resumed production to meet future demand. As for availability, the Huawei P40 series will be shipping to customers in Europe when the lockdowns are lifted by the authorities.

The Huawei P40 series consists of three models namely Huawei P40, Huawei P40 Pro, and Huawei P40 Pro Plus. The pricing of these phones starts at €799 ($880), €999 ($1095), and €1399 ($1533) respectively.
