Earlier today (20th April 2020), Meizu launched a Commemorative Edition of the Meizu 16S Pro. This special edition was released to officially announce the discontinuation of the series and is move likely made to make way for the upcoming flagship, Meizu 17.
The Meizu 16S Pro special edition will be sent out by a lottery draw that will take place on Weibo, the popular Chinese microblogging website. The Commemorative variant will feature 4G LTE and will arrive with a unique design over its original version. Looking at the poster image that was shared to tease te device, the Meizu 16S Pro features a unique unicorn design on the back.

On top of the angular unicorn etching, the words “The Last 16” is also found on the rear panel, to officially announce the series discontinuation. The move is a clear promotional event as the upcoming Meizu 17’s launch event is just around the corner. The latest flagship will feature top notch specs like Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 SoC and will be unveiled on 22nd April 2020. So stay tuned as we will be covering the event.
