Yesterday, Xiaomi officially introduced MIUI 12, the new version of the company’s mobile operating system. After the launch event, the brand also shared the update schedule/timeline for all the eligible devices. It was later followed by ‘Survey for MIUI 13 Feature Design’ confirming the next iteration of software to be already in works. Now, earlier today, the product head of Xiaomi Camera shared a teaser video of a new improved MIUI Camera app on Weibo. The executive even revealed the list of devices that will be getting it.

Customization in the MIUI Camera app was already teased by @Queena_Xiaomi, the product head of Xiaomi Camera earlier last week. Now, as MIUI 12 is official, she dropped a new teaser video for the redesigned app revealing all new changes.

These are the new features that will be included in the new revamped MIIUI Camera app.

  • Magic Kaleidoscope
  • Tap to shoot, hold to record
  • Easy to arrange buttons (Option to edit toggle placement)
  • Custom colors (Theming)
  • Texture and Film camera sound (New in-app sounds)

Apart from the above-listed features, the new MIUI Camera app will also feature device camera hardware-specific features like 50x zoom and 108MP modes to name a few.

The new MIUI Camera app will first debut in MIUI 12 China Beta ROMs for the supported devices just like any other new feature for Xiaomi’s mobile software.
