Sharp Aquos Zero 2 launched in September 2019 as the world’s first 240Hz refresh rate display smartphone. Since its release, the device has been exclusive to Japan. But not anymore as it makes its way to Taiwan for TWD 21,990 ($732) after five months from the announcement in December.
The Sharp Aquos Zero 2 is a 2019 flagship smartphone powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. The handset comes in a single variant with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage.
It features a 6.4-inch OLED panel with FHD+ (2340 × 1080 pixels) resolution and 240Hz refresh rate. Further, it only comes with a dual-camera setup consisting of 12MP primary sensor and a 20MP ultra-wide shooter. Whereas, the front selfie camera is of 8 megapixels and located in a dew-drop notch.
The handset runs Android 10 and also has an in-display fingerprint sensor. Other features of the device include WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, 4G, dual-band GPS, no 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C. As for the size and weight, the phone measures 158 x 74 x 8.8 mm and weighs only 143g.
The only major downside of Sharp Aquos Zero 2 is its tiny 3,130 mAh battery. This small battery is even not enough for regular 60Hz displays, let alone the 240Hz refresh rate panel the handset comes equipped with.
That being said, there’s no word from Sharp on the availability of Aquos Zero 2 in other markets.
