Xiaomi recently launched the MIJIA Smart Electric Kettle Pro in its home market China for a price of 249 yuan, which roughly converts to $35. Now, just a day after that, the company has introduced the MIJIA Smart Electric Kettle 1S which as the same indicates, is cheaper compared to the Pro model.
The company has confirmed that the MIJIA Smart Electric Kettle 1S is priced at 149 yuan which is approximately $21 and will be available for purchase in China from 1st June.
It has a capacity of 1.7 liters and the company has added a new insulation button to keep the temperature at 55-degree celsius. As per the company, that temperature is most suitable for immediate drinking.
The product packs a 1800W high-power concentrating heating ring, same as the Pro model. As per the company, it takes about six minutes to completely boil a full volume of water. With the British STRIX thermostat, it can offer precise temperature control and stop when the water is boiled.

Additionally, the inner liner, spout, and inner cover are made of food-contact 304 stainless steel which is touted to be safe and healthy and without odor. This is the same material used for the Pro variant as well.
The fuselage has double-layer anti-scalding design, hollow insulation to make sure that when there’s boiling water inside, the outside body of the product doesn’t heat up. Xiaomi‘s MIJIA Smart Electric Kettle 1S also comes with several other features which include easy to clean, triple safety protection for power, electric shock protection, heat preservation indicator, among others.
