Back in September 2019, Xiaomi had officially unveiled the Mi Mix Alpha Concept Smartphone. The device featured a whopping 180.6 percent screen to body ratio and featured a futuristic never before seen design and display. While the company had revealed its pricing, the Mi Mix Alpha was never officially launched. Recently, rumors regarding a commercial variant with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC had been surfacing which has now been officially denied.

Earlier today (2nd June 2020), Xiao Zang, the Deputy General Manager of Marketing, officially confirmed on Weibo that the Mi Mix Alpha will not have a Snapdragon 865 version. The news was shared on the popular Chinese microblogging website and debunks the recent rumors. Unfortunately, this also leaves the fate of the launch of the Mi Mix Alpha on uncertain grounds again.

The Xiaomi concept smartphone has been highly anticipated despite its ludicrous price of 19,999 Yuan (roughly 2,815 US Dollars). It was announced with the then Qualcomm flagship chip, Snapdragon 855+, but has never been available for purchase. While Xiaomi officials confirmed that the company is capable of mass producing the handset, there has been no news confirming the same.
