Exactly a month ago, Meizu announced a GaN (Gallium Nitride) charger with three ports and a 65W power output.

If you want to pick up the ¥199 (~$28) charger, you will still have to wait a few more weeks  but the good news is that it is now on pre-sale ahead of its eventual release on June 18.

The Meizu GaN charger has two USB-C ports and a USB-A port. Each port has a maximum output of 65W and can be used to charge a variety of devices including the new MacBook Pro. Meizu even adds charging support for devices that require micro-currents such as fitness trackers, smartwatches, and Bluetooth headsets.

The charger supports multiple charging protocols including Quick Charge 3.0, Power Delivery 3.0, Samsung’s Adaptive Fast Charging, Programmable Power Supply (PPS), Huawei’s Fast Charging Protocol (FCP) and MediaTek’s Pump Express 2.0.

Below are the various supported power outputs of the charger:

  • USB-C Port 1 – 3.3.V-21V/3A, 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 20V/3.25A
  • USB-C Port 2 – 3.3.V-21V/3A, 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 20V/3.25A
  • USB-A – 4.5V/5A, 5V/4.5A, 8V/3A, 9V/3A, 11V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/3.25A

The Meizu 65W GaN charger will be announced on June 18 and should be available on Meizu’s online store as well as third-party sellers.
