On June 3, Honor unveiled the Honor Play4 and Honor Play4 Pro smartphones with 5G support in China. The Honor Play4 which is the company’s cheapest 5G phone is slated to be available for purchase for the first time on June 12. As far as the Pro model is concerned, Honor carried its first sale today in the home market.

The Honor Play4 Pro 5G has landed in China in two options such as 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. These variants are priced at 2,899 Yuan (~$409) and 2,999 Yuan (~$423), respectively. At launch, the company confirmed that the phone will be selling in color options like Magical Night Black, Mecha Blue, and Iceland Illusion.

At present, only the black and blue variants are available on purchase on Vmall. Also, the official online store is only selling the 8 GB RAM edition of the phone.

Honor Play4 Pro 5G specifications

The Honor Play4 Pro 5G has a 6.57-inch IPS LCD screen that features a pill-shaped cutout for its two front-facing cameras. The screen supports a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. The display cutout houses a 32-megapixel main selfie camera and an 8-megapixel depth sensor.

The back panel of the Honor Play4 Pro 5G has a dual came setup that includes a Sony IMX600Y RYYB 40-megapixel main lens and an 8-megapixel telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom. There is a separate Pro version that features a dedicated IR sensor for measuring temperature.

The Kirin 990 5G powers the Honor Play4 Pro 5G. The phone boots to Magic UI 3.1 based Android 10 OS. The 4,200mAh battery of the device is coupled with 40W fast charging technology.
