Xiaomi is all set to launch the next-generation fitness tracker — Mi Band 5 in China on 11th June. Ahead of the launch, the company has confirmed that the device will come with seven major upgrades compared to the previous generation model.

As per the details revealed by the company, those seven major changes include a larger Dynamic Color Screen, a new Magnetic Charging, NFC UnionPay Flash Payment, Remote Control Camera, Professional Sensor Upgrade, 11 Professional Sports Modes, and a new Women Health Mode.

Now, in a new teaser poster shared by the company, it has revealed more details about the charging technology used in the upcoming wearable device. This time, the company is using magnetic charging to juice up the device.

From the image, it’s clearly shown that the users won’t need to remove the wearable device from the strap to charge it. Instead, a magnetic charging pin can be placed on the back of the device, besides the heart rate sensor, for the charging process to start.

Prior to this, in order to charge the Mi Band device, users need to take it out of the strap and place it inside the company’s proprietary holder cable. Thanks to the new charging tech, the annoying process of removing the device from the strap has now been ditched.

Apart from this, the company has also confirmed that it will come with a 20 percent larger display, which is in line with the reports claiming that the Mi Band 5 will have a 1.2-inch screen, slightly larger than the 0.95-inch display in the predecessor.

Rumors indicate that Xiaomi is also set to bring support for Google Pay transactions in the global variants of the Mi Band 5, along with Amazon Alexa smart voice assistant support. The company has so far confirmed that the fitness tracker will come in four color options — Black, Green, Yellow, and Red. While the pricing is not yet known, it is being speculated to be priced around 175 yuan (~$25) in China.
