The Redmi 8A Dual is a slight upgrade to the Redmi 8A that launched last year. The main difference between the two phones is that the latter comes with dual rear cameras.

When it was announced in February, the Redmi 8A Dual was available in two configurations – 2GB RAM + 32GB and 3GB RAM + 32GB. Today, Redmi India has announced a third configuration that has 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

The first sale for the new variant will be at 12 noon on June 15 on Mi.com and Amazon India. It will also be available at authorized retail outlets. The price tag is INR 8,999 (~$118).

The Redmi 8A comes in three variants too but its 64GB version has 4GB of RAM and not 3GB of RAM as that of the Redmi 8A Dual.

The phone has a 6.22-inch HD+ (720 x 1520) display with a waterdrop notch. It is powered by a Snapdragon 439 processor and you get a dedicated MicroSD card slot.

On the back of the phone is a 13MP + 2MP dual-camera setup. You also get an 8MP front-facing camera. Redmi has removed the IR blaster from its entry-level smartphones but the audio jack is there and you don’t even need to plug in earphones to use the FM radio. You also get a 5000mAh battery with support for reverse charging and 18W fast charging.
