When Samsung launched the Galaxy Watch Active 2 smartwatch, it came with support for heart rate monitoring and ECG. However, the device lacked support for blood pressure monitoring, which is now being rolled out.

A couple of months ago, Samsung had announced that the blood pressure monitoring support will be added as the feature and now it is being rolled out as it was cleared by the South Korean drug safety agency to measure blood pressure.

Today, the South Korean giant has finally started rolling out the blood pressure monitoring support to the Galaxy Watch Active 2 devices in South Korea. With this, users will now be able to measure and track their blood pressure. The company has also launched the Health Monitor application.

To get started with blood pressure monitoring, users will first need to calibrate their watch using a traditional cuff-style blood pressure monitoring equipment. Then, they can use the Galaxy Watch Active 2’s pulse wave analysis for measuring blood pressure.

The application needs to be installed on both the devices — the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 and the smartphone connected to it. Blood pressure readings are synced to the app and users can track it by days, weeks, and months, and can also share the data with their doctor or health professionals for consultation.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 comes in two sizes — 40mm and 44mm. It features an S-AMOLED display that supports 360 x 360 pixels resolution. The 40mm device has a 1.2-inch display whereas the 44mm model is fitted with a 1.4-inch screen.
